so i spent the past 5 days in delhi dealing with irritating, bureaucratic stuff, but especially since the necessary office is only open

8-12, I was left sufficient time to wander around in 90 degree weather (70% humidity!), eat some good food (salad! pizza! chocolate mousse!), see some friends (gitzy!), get ripped off by auto drivers, watch inception (aahasldkakldsklk$%@#k!), and see a few sights. I didn't see most of the classic tourist spots (red fort, qtub minar, etc) because it was hot and i'm weird. the highlight of my personal delhi tour was definitely jantar mantar. a few years ago i had a photography teacher who had done a project about it (
http://www.jantarmantar.org/) so it peaked my interest (and i really like the sound of the name). Jantar mantar (delhi) is one of 5 old observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 1700's.

| This is the Misra Yantra, which has a few functions, the coolest being it is used to tell time for 4 parts of the world [Greenwich, Zurich, Notkey (Japan), Serichew (Pacific Islands)]. |

| what time is it? according to the giant sundial, it's about 1:30 |

"we're sorry, you cannot enter the road to nowhere at this time, come back again later" (...very symbolic of my trip to delhi)
