the first Bay days

Since being in the area, I've been lucky to have 2 of my East Coaster friends to explore with. On Monday, Andy, Eli and I went to the Land's End park which was beautiful and brought me to a labyrinth! San Francisco is cool in that we were pretty much in the city, but it was an incredible park too, way more nature than Central or Prospect Park, with a beach and cliffs and lots of trees. We even saw a coyote about 5 feet away from us!

Then yesterday Sumana, Adam and I explored San Francisco all day. First Sumana and I not only visited, but participated in a full Buddhist service at the Zen Center. Then we went to USF Law School to scope things out for Sumana. We found a prof who was a wes alum and he gave us lots of info about USF and moving from the North East to the Bay Area. An interesting thing he said about San Francisco is that most people come here to escape something, so people are much less rooted here...

We also checked out the tourist spots likeeeee the houses from the opening credits of Full House, Crooked ("Lombard") Street, Fisherman's Wharf and North Beach for Italian food. So far, the Bay area has been lots of fun, with tons to see. It's not like the desert at all, and it's suprisingly cold, but it's very beautiful all the same.
